Shopping For Fashion On A Budget

Running low on funds or just simply trying to save a few dollars? Here are some tricks to keep your finances on track without having to give up your fashion sense:

Keep your store receipts and product tags for at least two months. You never know when you might want to return something because you notice a defect in the garment or suddenly realize that it doesn't fit because you lost or gained a few pounds. You should have pretty good luck with most chain stores returning your item with the receipt unless of course it has already been worn.

Can't afford to spend extra money on a new outfit? Take a strapless dress or tunic and wear it over a turtleneck for winter or over a T-Shirt or thin blouse in warm weather. You get two looks for the price of one.

Did you notice some scuffs on your shoes that you were about to wear? Don't throw them out yet! Take a small amount of Vaseline and rub it on the scuff, then blend into the entire shoe for an instant shine. If your shoes are looking dull, you can also use a little hand cream on a paper towel and rub. No need to buy special shoe polishers or to have to buy a new pair!

Have dry cuticles? Don't waste your money on expensive cuticle creams, just simply rub Vaseline or A&D ointment into each cuticle.

Hate waiting for your nails to dry after applying polish? Don't waste your money on automatic nail dryers, simply dip your fingertips into ice-cold water or spray nails with PAM. Sounds a little crazy but it works!

Need to remove your makeup but sick of paying for expensive makeup removal pads? Use generic brands of baby wipes to remove your makeup instead.

If you are looking for some great bargains for quality kids clothes, check out your local Sears, J.C. Penney or Old Navy stores towards the end of the season. At Sears, the clearance sales start as early as the end of June and Old Navy is having the end of season blow-out sale right now. The deals are phenomenal. Fleece tops for as low as $5.99, T-shirts for $3.99, Shorts for $3.99 and jeans for as little as $4.99-$7.99. The quality of the clothing is top of the line but the prices are the bottom of the line and they keep getting lower. Buy a size or two too bigger for next year. You will be so happy you did! Don't forget to check out the adult clothes as well. You will no doubt find some great deals.

Looking to create some cleavage ladies? Don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a push up bra? Try creating an illusion of cleavage by applying a bit of dark-colored bronzing cream to the area between your breasts where the cleavage is supposed to be. Bronzing blush powder applied with a brush will work just as well.
